R.Kelly releases a 19-minute track to address sexual abuse allegations
Bad idea… 19 minutes are not enough to attempt to explain away 25 years worth of allegations
R&B star, R.Kelly has released a 19-minute long song, ‘I Admit’ where he addresses sexual abuse allegations raised against him over the years.
The singer has been repeatedly accused by women, young girls and their parents of holding them against their will and maltreating in what they describe as an “abusive sex cult”.
Kelly has consistently debunked every claims raised against him and in this song, he asks “What’s the definition of a cult? What’s the definition of a sex slave? Go to the dictionary, look it up. Let me know I’ll be here waiting”
He also makes direct reference Buzzfeed music critic, Jim DeRogatis who has published facts-based articles and interviews with parents of Kelly’s alleged victims. Kelly said, “You been tryna destroy me for 25 whole years. Writin’ the same stories over and over against. Off my name, you done went and made yourself a career”. He went to call DeRogatis an enemy.
The song has resulted in a deluge of reactions on Twitter:
R. Kelly literally sings “I admit it, I did it.” Someone, pull the plug on his career please.

maybe instead of listening to the new R Kelly song we could listen to the women who have been accusing him of sexual violence for nearly 20 years, just an idea!

I just read the lyrics to R Kelly’s new 19 minute song called “I Admit It I Did It.” His lack of self awareness is atrocious. There are several lyrics I take offense to. The one I will address is “I’m just a man.” I am also a man. I would never use that to defend this behavior.

Fire guts Osun governor’s office
The office of the Osun state governor, Rauf Aregbesola was gutted by fire on Monday.
The fire is said to have started from an air conditioning system in the governor’s office at about 4pm.
Reports have it that the governor was away at the time of the incident.
Eye witness accounts say the fire expanded majorly because the security doors that lead to the office could not be forced open.
This Twitter user shares his Uber story and it is as hilarious as it is hard to believe:
Ordered for an Uber tonight at Dominos, Lekki Phase 1. The driver said he’s outside. Came outside and the only car I saw was a 2018 Range Rover. I entered and the owner asked me if I am crazy.
I’m currently on my way to the police station, fam. 😢
